We are the first & only shooting sports club at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We are an officially recognized Student Organization, with over 200 dues paying members. This makes us one of the largest Student Groups on campus. Our goal is to introduce new shooters to the shooting sports in a safe, responsible, educational & fun environment. We do this by introducing members to firearms during our New Shooter Orientations, and then taking them to the range!
We are happy to report that the bill passed through Student Congress that would make it more difficult to receive funding for ammunition was vetoed by the Student Body President Tuesday! While the fight is not over, this was a great step. The next step will be the bill returning to Student Congress next Tuesday, March 26th for a vote on overriding the veto. This vote would require a 2/3 majority to succeed. Considering that the bill was originally passed by only one vote, we are hopeful that it will not be overridden. The bill was soundly defeated in Student Congress, despite numerous attempts to revisit it. As always, we remain unpopular with certain congressional members and remain in their crosshairs. For right now however, your hard work and diligence has kept them at bay. We at THRPC thank you for all your continued support!
If you wish to donate to the club and help monetarily support us, we would be greatly appreciative! You can donate online via Paypal, or email us at [email protected] if you wish to donate by a different method. Thank you very much!
